Learning the ABC’s of Open World

The ATA Education Committee is in full swing arranging an exciting schedule for five Open World participants from Russia.   Dmitry Shmigirilov, Sergei Kurdumov, Oleg Pantukhin, Denis Bychkov and Ekaterina (Katya) Korableva with moderator Sergey Pukhanov arrive on Friday, October 19th and stay through Saturday, October 27th, 2012.

Since all 5 Tulans work as professionals in the fields of education and culture, our program focuses on visits to area colleges and universities.

Also in the mix is a tour of the State Capitol and Legislative buildings with Anton Konev, member of the Albany Common Council with visits to Senator Neil Breslin and Assemblyman John “Jack” McEneny’s office to discuss education policy.

Other highlights include sharing the day at Tech Valley High School on the SUNY East Campus, exploring the Children’s Museum of Science and Technology in Troy and learning about how Russell Sage College uses technology to help the mentally and physically disadvantaged.
