Enjoy Presentation #3! A team of five Siena College students recommended several strategic partnerships to help the ATA boost community engagement. Beyond our current crop of social media platforms, the students thought we’d benefit greatly by starting a “Linked-In” page. They encouraged us to “friend” and “follow” model/punk rock singer and champion snowboarder, Alyona Alekhina, perhaps even invite her to Albany to perform a benefit concert. Alyona is a Russian pop icon with hundreds of thousands of young followers and this, in turn, would garner greater visibility of the Alliance. Another recommendation was to initiate an ice hockey tournament at the TU Center in Albany. And lastly, an idea that raised eyebrows, was the suggestion of a 60-member concert band made up of musicians from both countries. A united band that could perform patriotic renditions of popular American songs and Russian songs that pay respect to both countries. The judges responded favorably to such a captivating idea.
