After months of preparation, the last 5 remaining contestants gave riveting presentations of their subjects during Round 3 of the Olympiad Contest. Tonight’s judges were 7 educators and 2 students from Tula, Russia.
After the judges tallied the scores they agreed that David Connor, junior at Tamerac High School and Alessandra Pratt, junior at North Warren High School, deserved to finish first. Grinning from ear-to-ear, both students were elated by the news.
Sandi Pratt, Alessandra’s mother said, “We are so excited and proud of Lexi. Lexi has learned so much and will enjoy this once in a lifetime opportunity.”
Connor and Pratt will receive an all expenses paid trip to Tula, Russia this June with supervision and an itinerary provided by the Albany-Tula Alliance.
Thank you to the judges, Educational Committee members, the Schenectady high school and all those involved for helping make the Olympiad Contest another great success story.
